Emily's socks monkey

I created my socks monkey about 2 or 3 months ago. After non-stop knitting, cardign, felt bags, socks, monkey socks...., my fingers finally has its voice-trigger finger (板機指). It's painful. Can't knitting, can't do anything. So, these days baking became my new hobby. I am so happy to find a baking supplies store which is in 內湖. And, Peter bought me a new oven from Costco. So, my latest jobs is making different cookies, and eat it. So happy.

stag beetle

If you had make the unicorn beetle, then you must keep knitting this big bug - stag beetle(鍬形蟲). These two beetles' pattern are almost the same, olny a little different. You could pick up the stag beetle's first foot between the two purl line, then just keep knitting. ^^

unicorn beetles

Do you like unicorn beetles? I have no idea why the little boys are so into it? Anyway, here is the pattern of unicorn beetles.(獨角仙) I google its name: rhinoceros beetle, xylotrupes dichotomus, allomyrina dichotoma. m..., don't know how to pronounce it in English.

If you ever seen my previous articles, then you must know the (sheep) yarn is suggest for no. 6 knitting needles. As usual, I use no. 3 knitting needle for making yarn toys. (80cm circle knitting needle, and DPN)

the orange body is on the right side, and the two wings are on the wrong side.
using the 3 needle bind off method to combine the body and wings' part. Don't pass over the previous stitch over the next stitch. keep knitting the row to the end, then you finish the body row 14.

Adding new yarn (the green horn)for the left horn. i-cord method, 3 rows, then bind off. Sewing the hole.

clockwise direction.

the first foot. stright line 4. picking 3 sts, i-cord method, 10 rows.

finishing the fourth foot.

the first pair feet: 10 rows
the second pair feet: 11 rows
the third pair feet: 12 rows

little bear

After bear pen lid, and little ant, now here is the little bear.
Yes, they all use the same head pattern. No. 3 knitting needles.(80 cm & DPN), small crochet hookers. (for help to pick up stitches.) And, I pick up stitches (ears, hands and feet) anticlockwise direction. (from the bear's right side to left side). m..., no tail. If you like, sewing it many times will be enough. :)

little octopus

Something you may want to know,
1. sheep yarn (for knitting needle NO 6). My habit is using no. 3 knitting needle for making a toy.
2. DPN method
3. i-cord
4. M3: make 3 in same stitch.(kfb at first, then don't drop the loop, keep knit it once. then you get 3 stitches.)

These little octopus remind me of 章魚燒(takoyaki), beer, summer. :)

Bear pen lid - crocheting

Well, Here is the pattern of bear pen lid - crochet version.
My tools:
1. corchet hooker: NO. 6, 4, 2
2. toy eyes
3. pencil
4. sewing needle

I think crocheting this pen lid is more faster than knitting ones, however, I like the shape of knitting toy, it looks tender, don't you agree it?
